UDSF (Unstructured Data Storage Function)

In telecom networks, the UDSF is an optional 5G Network Function that stores and retrieves unstructured data on behalf of any NF, supporting stateless NF designs and high availability through shared state. It is accessed via the Nudsf service interface.

UDSF in context

The mobile core carries subscriber sessions, mobility and policy. In 4G it is the EPC (MME, HSS, S/PGW); in 5G it is the Service-Based Architecture with AMF, SMF, UPF, AUSF, UDM and the NRF.

Cryptography in telecom spans air-interface ciphers (A5/1, A5/3, ZUC, SNOW, NEA/NIA), transport (IPsec, TLS) and identity (AKA, 5G-AKA, EAP-AKA'). Weak or downgradeable ciphers remain a live risk on 2G/3G fallback.
