CHF in context
The mobile core carries subscriber sessions, mobility and policy. In 4G it is the EPC (MME, HSS, S/PGW); in 5G it is the Service-Based Architecture with AMF, SMF, UPF, AUSF, UDM and the NRF.
OSS/BSS platforms hold the highest-value subscriber and revenue data on the operator side, are heavily targeted for fraud and insider abuse, and are in scope for NIS2 and the UK Telecoms Security Act.
To place CHF in the wider telecom-security picture, review DRP, Operating System (OS), PDN, QoS, BSF and PCF — each entry cross-references back to this page so you can walk the topic in either direction.
