A minimal 3G and LTE/EPC core network for lab and research use, handling Iuh (home-NodeB), S1 (eNodeB), NAS, and GTP-U interfaces.
Corenet is a minimal 3G and LTE/EPC core network that implements the minimal set of functions to handle home-NodeBs through Iuh interfaces, eNodeBs through S1 interfaces, and UEs through NAS and GTP-U interfaces. Used for lab testing and research with open-source and commercial eNodeBs and femtocells.
What it does
- Implements a minimal 3G and LTE/EPC core network in Python.
- Handles home-NodeBs via Iuh (HNBAP, RUA, RANAP) and eNodeBs via S1 (S1AP).
- Provides NAS and GTP-U interfaces for UEs.
- Includes SMS relay and a GTP-U tunnel manager.
- Tested with OpenAirInterface, Amarisoft eNodeB, ip.access 3G femtocells, and multiple handsets.
